11/9 - Preview tracks online now!

For those of you who aren't a part of MySpace.com, I want you to know that we have posted two clips from our preproduction sessions and more is on the way! We think it sounds pretty good, but you should hear for yourself. If that link doesn't work, go to www.myspace.com/thisdaysend. Rock on.

10/28 - Preproduction

Well we recently spent some time in Seattle tracking rough cuts of our new material, and, so far, it sounds pretty fuckin' good. We don't even have most of the new studio gear yet, so we're really excited for how the final product will sound. There are eight tracks right now, and more in the works (Note: Material pre-dating "This Day's End" will not appear on the record). We are deciding on a couple of clips to put online, and to those in our Extended Family, you'll be getting something more (ADOPTEES: We need mailing addresses so contact us ASAP if you want to get this exclusive treat). If you don't know what this is and are interested, just ask.

Anyway, we're playing one show in Grants Pass on November 12th, so if anyone's interested in a nice drive, it's not looking like we'll be back to playing regular shows until well into next year. There is also a collaberation in the works, but you'll find out about that later. Sorry about the much delayed update. More to come. Peace,

-Sam

8/2 - The Record

It's taken a fair amount of time to get the songs and funds ready to do this record that we keep talking about (by now, almost 14 months of writing). The original plan was to do a summer recording session, but for various reasons, it's going to be pushed back deep into fall, with a probable release at the turn of winter.

Most importantly, this means we have more time to prepare ourselves and our music for the scrutiny that we will face in the studio, and I am also seeing our songwriting abilities strengthen the more we work together (much of our old and "out of print" material was created individually).

Last week, we began working on a new one that is yet another departure from what we're created so far, and we plan to finish it this afternoon or shortly thereafter.

7/2 - New Merch

We were unable to get our shirts for this tour. However, we have 100 advanced copies of Eugene Rock Music, Vol. 1, as well as a new live album we just put together, entitled Truck/Deer/Crab. So we'll be selling those dirt cheap and giving away many of our two-thousand new stickers. So come out to the shows and get your hands on this stuff before it's all gone. . . . It begins tonight! Rock on.

6/21 - The Unexpected

Well some of you have heard that our friends, Doubtfully Yours, just threw in the towel. Unfortunately this was right before their tour with She (my Arson), which put this girl on fire in an awkward position. So they asked us to join them on their stint down the coast. Due to our jobs, we will not be able to do the whole tour. But we are down for the journey and will do whatever it takes to get on the road and rock for the masses. We are preparing merch for our future friends out of town/state, and are obtaining a few advanced copies of the Eugene Rock Music compilation to hold us over until it's released officially. Shows will be posted soon...and don't forget the WOW Hall show on Wednesday. Rock on.

6/13 - Come on Down

Well we've got two more shows coming up, and that's all we've got scheduled at this point. I'm thinking there will probably be maybe three or four shows left before we go to record, so catch us while you can! Also, the 23rd marks our first headlining WOW Hall show, though it's our 11th appearance on the stage. Please come out and show your support at what will likely be our last WOW gig until the fall. And maybe you can catch the new Berzerk CD while you're at it....

5/20 - Good Times

Good news, everybody: This Day's End is headed to Seattle next weekend to record an exclusive track for the upcoming "Eugene Rock Music Vol. 1" compilation disc, which will feature songs from approximately 20 local bands. A release date has not been scheduled, but will be posted as soon as it is confirmed.

I've also got more news on the album: We just finished yet another song (you can hear both of our brand new songs as we debut them this weekend), and we're getting more and more details figured out with Eric in Seattle.

But what's probably most exciting news is that after we record the CD at Sea Town with Munch, it will be taken to Colorado and mastered by members of the Descendents/ALL at their studio, The Blasting Room. It's becoming remarkably difficult to contain my excitement at this point.

5/6 - More on the Mission

I'm not sure how many people know this yet, so I thought I'd start out with some REAL news. (Though, to many, this will be no surprise.) This summer (tentatively later July) we will venture to Seattle where we'll stay with our long-time producer/engineer, Eric Munch. The recording is projected to last a couple of months before pressing, and the album will be due out in the fall. It has yet to be titled, and we're almost nine songs in as of right now (two are still in early stages of their evolution). This is the reason we've been doing less shows, and why the site has been so seldom updated. I apologize for this, but it'll be worth it.

Now, we do have some shows coming up, and--given that we've still got some work to do and are running low on time--we only chose the very best ones to play. Check the events page, because I'll be updating it fairly often. This is time for your street team promotion junkies to get in touch! Peace.

4/13 - Status Quo

Apologies for the lack of shows. We're working--though rather inconsistently--on getting some more new material together. So far, we've got almost seven songs ready to record. This means we've got a lot of jamming to do before we can be ready for the full-length (tentatively set to record in July), and we will not be playing as many shows for awhile.

Do make sure to check out the last Nate Allen/Rock4Reason production in Roseburg next month; he's done a lot for this band and I'd like to give him an excellent goodbye.

So thanks for hanging in there with us while we get back in the songwriting groove! Periodic updates will follow. Right now we've got a metal song and another that's like Rx Bandits meets Slayer. Yes, it's odd. But does it have to make sense?

2/22 - It Begins...

Today, I'm in the Register-Guard (G2) in a story about the local scene. Yay for independent stage production! We finished some new music...vocals still pending. The first taste will be heavier, but don't worry--we are not going to be a metal band, nor a hardcore band, nor a punk band. We just want to make music. Starting over allows us to be free of our old reputation for being a one-track band. We'll see what comes of the new songwriting sessions. Peace.

2/17 - A Brand New Start

As we develop our new sound, we've also developed a new name. We are This Day's End. More coming soon. All shows are still on. Peace. (Rock on.)
